Hell on Wheels tells the epic story of post-Civil War America, focusing on a soldier who sets out to exact revenge on the Union soldiers who killed his wife. Cullen's journey takes him west to Hell on Wheels, a dangerous, raucous, lawless melting pot town that travels with and services the construction of the railroad. In Season 3, following the Indian attack that destroyed the railroad settlement, Cullen spends a long winter reshaping his lust for revenge into a burning ambition: to take control of the Union Pacific and drive it across the country.
