Ancient Aliens: Season 6 - Volume 1 on H2 digs deeper into what role aliens may have played in shaping our world. Suspend your skepticism for a moment and think of all the options and explanations to some of the world’s most mysterious items and phenomena. Do that any you have Ancient Aliens, a History Channel television show. Over the last six seasons, Ancient Aliens has explored alternate explanations and reasons for what many people throughout history have been unable to explain.
The first part of season six includes eight episodes looking at various reasons for why islands appear and disappear; why some believe the Ark of the Covenant is alien technology; how gifted children may have alien-like tendencies; why mountains could be secret bases for alien life forms; how various locations in the United States could hold alien secrets; how, through photos and other research, scientists believe that Mars was once a great civilization; that ancient relics, like Solomon’s ring or the lost Aztec treasure are alien treasures and hold ancient curses; and the possibility of travel through time and space using worm holes and “star gates.”
These scholars, authors and researchers all have interesting opinions and explanations for these strange happening. They are able to suspend logic and look at the possibility of an extra-terrestrial explanation to what is going on. They have theories and speculation on lights in the sky and in some cases, under the water, reasons for why people, planes, ships and other things have just disappeared with no other reason. It’s an interesting look at finding answers to some of the strangest questions.
I’m a big fan of this show. It gives alternative explanations to the unexplainable and uses scientific theories and facts to really make a compelling argument into the influence of aliens on earth. The researchers and others who were interviewed were all knowledgeable and were able to articulately explain their theories and reasons for believing what they do. Are there aliens out there? Do they walk among us? Are some of our greatest mysteries alien-based? If the answers to those questions are yes, maybe no one is ready to know that for sure yet.

Episode 6: The Star Children – Theories on why gifted children are as gifted as they are.
Episode 7: Treasures of the Gods – Ancient treasures and what their power means for the world.
Episode 8: Aliens and the Red Planet – NASA’s travels to Mars and what has been found there.

Ancient Aliens Season Six: Part One’s widescreen presentation was very good. It was clear and sharp and many times, it looked like a 3D showing. I wanted to put those cheesy 3D glasses you get at the movies on and check to see if I was indeed watching something in 3D. Colors were bright and reenactments were smooth. I watch this show on television and the picture was better than watching it on TV.
Audio (4 out of 5 stars)
The English Dolby Digital 5.1 audio was also very good. Subtitles in English SDH and Spanish are available for those who need them. The narration was clear and the interviews with the scholars were intelligible and extremely knowledgeable. Ancient Aliens is an easy show to just listen to because of the clarity and sharpness of the audio.

Summary (3 out of 5 stars)
While overall, Ancient Aliens Season Six: Part One receives a lower score than it should, it’s only because of the lack of special features. In general, this is a great show that really makes the viewer think about other possibilities. It’s a show that, while not taking up space on my DVR, I do seek out to watch. It’s a show that will appeal to those who like history and who want to think about alternate explanations for some secrets of the world.
