Star Wars: The Clone Wars' "Lost Missions" Final Season Will Appear on Netflix March 7!!

Netflix is grabbing on to the Force in a pact with Disney/ABC TV Group and Lucasfilm to carry the final season of animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”“Clone Wars” will bow March 7 on Netflix in the U.S. and Canada. The batch of 13 episodes dubbed “The Lost Missions” will debut on the Netcaster along with all of the episodes from the previous five seasons of the show that aired on Cartoon Network from 2008-2012.

“Clone Wars” ended its run on Cartoon Network last year, at Disney’s behest. At the time, Lucasfilm hinted that it was producing a final season of segs that would find a new home. Disney bought Lucasfilm in late 2012, right around the time it struck a massive film and TV content licensing pact with Netflix. The older “Clone Wars” segs will include a few director’s cut installments never seen on Cartoon Network. The package also includes the 100-minute “Clone Wars” movie that kicked off the series in 2008.

Naturally, Netflix is enthused to bring anything branded “Star Wars” to its subscriber base. “ ’Star Wars’ is one of the most iconic franchises of all time and this series joins a long line of Disney content that Netflix members are and will continue to enjoy for years to come,” said Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s chief content officer. “ ‘The Clone Wars’ marks an important moment as Netflix welcomes more and more first-run content from the Walt Disney Company and its subsidiaries.”
